Vocal samples thread: how do *you* say it?

Crud. Yes. I uploaded it but forgot the link. Sorry. I think after I put up fisha’s, I thought that my quote of fish was full.

Oops! I forgot fishbicycle’s rendition of the classic “Mary rarely rose”. Plus all of Inner Stickler’s contributions. So, here’s The Compendium again.

Now included: samples from cmyk, antechinus, jsgoddess, nashiitashii, Pushkin, fisha, and Hypnagogic Jerk. Plus fishbicycle and Inner Stickler! fisha’s samples arrived in the form of a video (Windows WMV format), from which I extracted the audio.
The compendium:

What, you want a Texan to chime in or something?

Sure!

Oh. My. God. You sound like Walter Cronkite. BRILLIANT!

ETA: I’ll see if I can’t find a microphone and add my voice to the mix.

Thats great!!

I thought you were text-to-voice software at first - but realised that AT&T don’t do a Canadian voice.

This could make a good game… stick some audio files up and a list of names, and see if people can match the voices to the poster. Or something.

Anyway, i’ve sent a thing to Sunspace, in the hope their inbox isn’t getting too busy.

If you can hold on a day or so, I’ll get out the microphone at the house (not at home right now) and record you some stuff.

I apparently sound like the Texas Country Reporter guy, if you know who that is.

And here it is!

And what with all these MP3s I’m hosting and all, I’m going to have to be careful. Outbound transfer out of my web server is up to the incredible figure of 0.002 of my traffic quota.

Hypnagogic Jerk sounds a lot like Sunspace.

Really? I can assure you that I am not him (I know that’s not what you’re saying). I’ve always thought that my voice sounds nerdy, I don’t know if that’s what you’re hearing. Also note that here I was reading a text and I could use several takes in order to say it correctly. If you heard me speaking English (especially if I’m nervous), I’d probably have a different accent.

Hey look everybody, it’s the birth of my crappy website! I just slapped it together and posted my voice files. Here it is!

Click at your own risk. I will not be responsible for any uncontrolled outbursts of ecstasy, agony and/or utter indifference that may or may not result from listening to these files. Use as directed.

I would like to put in a request for jsgoddess and Revenant Threshold to come and read me stories. Or just the tv listings, whichever.

“Here in the United States, ‘boot’ is something you put on your foot.”

:stuck_out_tongue:

I couldn’t resist a little smartassery.

I don’t think I can come there, but I can make a recording.
