I currently use LINGO for VOIP. Recently i’ve been getting all sorts of annoying problems, from correctly dialing a number and connecting to a complete different number (sometimes in a different area code), random disconnnections (or just completely unable to connect), and oddities such as only end being able to hear the other.
I’ve troubleshot my end to the best of my ability. The Lingo unit is connected to my router and I’ve set up QOS to give my phone priority. During these oddities every other part of my network functions perfectly, which leads me to suspect the Lingo call center.
What can I do about this? Anyone else have similair problems with VOIP? Is there a better service, such as Vonage or At&T? I’m tired of having a worthless phone.
Good advice. However… the previously mentioned Lingo is my only means of doing so. It makes it difficult when their first step of advice is “now reset the cable modem…”
I was more interested to see if this was a typical problem of VOIP, and perhaps I should switch to a conventional land line.
I use Vonage as well and I love them. They do have a referral plan where you get a free month and I get free service as well. If you would like an invite to them contact me at my E-mail address thats on the profile.
