VOLCANO! Sumatra/Indonesia Gets It In The Neck AGAIN!

I gotta say, that map’s kinda… skewed.

I’m in Singapore (yawn, yes, yes, we know already!) and we get virtually none of the effects of the volcanoes, tsunamis, eathquakes etc. cos they’re all off in Indonesia, but that red stripe on the map runs right over us!

The big quake in March cracked some floor tiles in a flat at Bukit Merah, and a friend in Bedok felt it, a little, but most folks were completely unaware.

I can’t say what effect it’s having on the psyches of folks in Indonesia (which is absolutely huge, by the way. Disasters in Aceh can be unknown in Papua simply because of the distances involved) but folks here are living life normally.

I mean, it’s not something scary like SARS or anything.
