Vote to save "Angel"

Vote here!

Read in USA Today that a few shows are on the fence. Shows include “Big, Fat Greek Life,” “Boomtown,” and one of my favorite shows, “Angel.”

In order to vote you need to give USA Today your year of birth, sex and zip code.

Maybe if enough of us vote, the networks will listen.

Well, I have a pretty good source that says WB has, in fact, picked up Angel, and that James Marsters and Allison Hannigan are both signed on “for a few episodes”. Though this probably won’t be announced until May when they do the fall line-up. IOW, I wouldn’t worry too much.

Actually, I thinkthis is the link.

By all means, sign up for marketing materials from USA Today! Er, I mean “vote”!

That is great news pepperlandgirl. Thanks for sharing. I have been rather anxious about it.

Yeah, the WB is pretty excited about the possibility of former Buffy regulars guest-starring (or even becoming regular cast members) on Angel, so its renewal, while not official, is pretty much a done deal.

Considering the run Ats has had this winter/sppring, I would very much doubt if WB didn’t pick it up. All the fans are raving, new fans are added. As seen on this board, even Buffy-fans, who hate the character Angel, tunes in. When Buffy is gone, I’m sure a big part of the fanbase will go from UPN to WB, if not all. If Spike and Willow is in the mix, I’m sure that’ll help.

Now, now, Otto, you have to actually click on the boxes to sign up for all that crap. (As opposed to other sites where you have to UNclick them.)

BTW, I’m wondering if there’s ANYONE out there that wants to save “My Big, Fat Greek Life” which is cringingly bad.

Voted.

You also have to give them a functioning email account to spam as well. They say “give an email address” doesn’t mean it’s mine. Not that I don’t trust USA Today . . . .

When asked recently if this is the last year of Angel, Joss Whedon said, “No.”

Short and sweet.

Considering that it’s doubtful that networks pay much attention to actual mailed-in letters asking them to save a show, I really doubt that this USA Today-poll-thingie will make any impact at all. USA Today will like getting some demographic information on who’s visiting their webpage, though.

If it makes you feel good, by all means, participate in this poll. But don’t think that it will make any difference at all in WB’s eventual decision…

Now we all know that imdb is not always correct, but this is interesting:

Notice the bolded years. Good sign or simple mistake?

Probably neither, since The Beast was on the show both at the end of last year and the beginning of this year.

Well, Ashtar, I don’t know if this is what you were alluding to, but I think what Homebrew was trying to say was that the other dates are left open (indicating the show will continue), whereas the dates for Cody and The Beast are closed, either indicating those characters will be killed off, or the show will come to an end. Either way, the IMDb goofed up by making such a revelation.

Partly right, vandal. The most interesting part, I thought, was that Cody Liam appears in 2004 – next year .
