We have limited bandwidth here? How much bandwidth is this server allotted, and how much do we use up (per month)?

No, not throttled.
We have had less to operate with in the past, we’ve never had more. What happens is that demand rises over time. For a website this is not a bad thing, to be popular and have more page views, that’s what you want.
So we’ve always taken the view that being able to read postings, write postings, those were priority concerns for us, more so than cosmetic stuff, fancy effects, pretty pictures, etc. People being able to read and write to the board will always be the most important things here because if you can’t read and you can’t write, you’re not going to be here.
