Vox: Don't Google your health questions. Use these sites instead.

Use google haphazardly and you put your health in the hands of Google’s search algorithms, a Frankenstein monster that nobody understands, including its creator. Luckily there are alternatives.

If you really want the medical lowdown, visit The Cochrane Collaboration, which conducts systematic literature reviews so that, “…decisions about health and health care are informed by high-quality, relevant and up-to-date synthesised research evidence.” They are one of the champions of evidenced based practice.

Personally, I’m a fan of the the Mayo Clinic and often search their website with google. The Vox article lists other websites for digging deeper, ones which present systematic reviews on health issues, clinical issues, public health issues, health systems issues, education, crime, justice and social welfare. They recommend a bookmark for this list of 100 trustworthy sources of information on health.

Great roundup of trustworthy health websites at Vox. I link again.

Meh, Yahoo Answers is the only doctor I need.

I turn to Jack Chick for all my medical needs.

I believe the OP is referring to *physical *health, not mental.

"Right, kick ass. Well, don’t want to sound like a dick or nothin’, but, ah… it says on your chart that you’re fucked up. Ah, you talk like a fag, and your shit’s all retarded. What I’d do, is just like… like… you know, like, you know what I mean, like… "

I’m assuming that Mike Judge sees Yahoo Answers as a big influence on the future of medical care.
