Voyager and the Borg

But its just SOOOOO much easier to rip on Voyager! when i dis on TNG i feel pains of guilt, but Voyager has none of that.

Let’s see, Seven of Nine and Deja Thoris are…?

Actually the Borg remind me of Doctor Who’s Daleks. For all their supposed efficiency and adaptibility, they don’t really seem especially efficient or adaptable. They are strangely limited - in many ways they remind me of Doctor Who’s Daleks.

Hey, did anyone read Shatner’s book where it turned out that the machine planet that created V’Ger was the Borg homeworld?

Well, Seven of Nine isn’t naked, like all good Barsoomian folk…and she needs red tinted skin, like the fair Dejah. (Of course, now John Carter of Mars is gonna come in here and get mad…)

What was that episode with Q’s kid?

Anyway, what I heard about them and Woola…Carter should be angry.

OK, who thinks the Borg will show up in Enterprise (somehow) before the end of the season?

Time changed with First Contact; NX01 looks like Akira. The Borg showed up early with 7 of 9’s parents.

Let’s hope not.

Hmmm…what would Archer say?
“Hi! We’re from…Earth! I have a dog!”

Borg dude: “What? you don’t even have sheilds?!?! you are not worthy of assimilation. see you in 200 years!”
of course, Archer would sleep with the Borg Queen first…

I see my last post demonstrates the importance of previewing - a rewrite and edit resulted in saying the same thing twice. Anyway, myths three and four make some interesting points about the borg.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; Star Warriors who just repeat stuff the Mike Wrong post’s don’t impress me. Geez! He ain’t God!

While he does have a rather dazzling display of logic, I think he makes to many assumptions. (By that same token, trekkies make wwwaaayyyy to many assumptions).

Yup - and they wouldn’t assimilate Spock because he had mind-melded with V’Ger.

I’m getting Preserver for Christmas in paperback.

Esprix

But he does make some good points. IMOSHO, Curtis Saxton makes better ones.

SpaceGhostofArrakis, I have no idea what you’re talking about - while I like Star Wars, I’m certainly not a “Star Warrior.” If anything I’m a Trekkie (hell, I usually watch Star Trek a couple of times a day), but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy Mike’s analyses or complain about the truly bizarre aspects of Trek.

Well, Tronny, people who use Wong’s site as a reference are often called “DoW” (Disciple of Wong) and are often ignored outright… wrongfully, I might add. While I disagree with some of Wong’s numbers - and his presentation - I am of the opinion that the majority of it is dead-on, AND serves as a nice starting point.

But, then, we’re getting back to the whole “SW vs. ST” debate… and… well… this thread’s been hijacked enough as it is!

[Getting even more off course here]

Then I probaly read to much into your post, sorry. I like Wong’s reasoning too. (But not all of it. I think his numbers and descriptions of the Imperial Size are a bit dodgy).

Sorry if I pissed you off.

I got the impression Wong doesn’t like rabid trekkers, while living in denile that he is an uber-nerd himself. He has a Star Wars website, for crying out loud! that don’t make the girls swoon (most girls).
and lets try to steer this back to topic: the Borg were wimpified, but if i wrote, they’ed appear once a year or two, and kill kill kill!!! they’d be so freakin’ scary, the episode would have to be aired late at night!
