Wait, that's the same guy??

That’s *Captain * Darling to you Blackadder.

Good luck against those elephants.

And he had a small part in the third series as the Scarlett Pimpernell.

Also Lord Percy.

My sister was watching Stargate SG-1 and called me up to ask if the dark-haired Tok’ra lady was the one who played Pamela in V: The Final Battle. It took me a minute to remember who Pamela even was, but I looked it up and found out she was right. She said it was the voice that tipped her off. (They both use some voice distortion, and I guess they sounded similar.)

When I was double-checking this just now I realized that she also played Ursa in Superman II (bad phantom zone lady). That’s not a connection I would have made.

I just rewatched Goonies last weekend and that movie was an AHA!-fest.

Hey, that’s Samwise Gangee as a little kid! (Sean Astin)
Hey, that’s the girl from Rat Race who flies the helicopter and who gets humped by Jason Stathan on a public street in Crank (Amy Smart)
Hey, it’s Short-round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Hey, that’s the comic book store kid from The Lost Boys (Corey something)

Watched Saving Private Ryan last night. Remember the scene where they get the wrong James Ryan?

“They died in combat.”
“That can’t be, sir - my brothers are in grammar school.”
“James Francis Ryan? Iowa?”
“James Frederick Ryan. Minnesota.”

The actor that played James Frederick Ryan is Nathan Fillion.

Ah, now I did spot that one. Quite a change from confident captain to weeping soldier.

The talk about Galaxy Quest made me look it up on IMDB. Check out this picture of the aliens

Not only is there Enrico Colantoni and Missi Pyle. There’s Rainn Wilson from The Office and Jed Rees (Anson the keyboardist from The Chris Isaak Show

When I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the recent Tim Burton/Johnny Depp one) I had to look close at Mrs. Beauregard (mother of the girl who inflates into a blueberry). she looked familiar, but I couldn’t immediately place her. It was only later that I realized that under that blonde hair was the female alien that falls for Tony Shaloub’s character in galaxyQuest.

And he was one of the guys on the bus in Speed, too.

And the Dr. Bashir guy–wasn’t he in Bridget Jones as the gay friend?

I was unaware of that. The first time I saw her character in the movie, she looked so much like Amy Sedaris that I momentarily thought it was her (and was not even completely convinced it wasn’t until I read the end credits).

He also played the ill-fated boyfriend of Linda Hamilton’s roomate in the first Terminator movie.

The one that got me was Robert Englund playing Willy, the alien-on-our-side in V. That sweet, goofy guy and Freddy Krueger?! Nooo!

Adam Baldwin, the enormous corporate tool from Wolfram and Hart on Angel was also “The Man They Call Jayne” in Firefly/Serenity – no surprise there.

But do you remember My Bodyguard? Yeah, Adam was a big boy…

On the “I can’t believe it’s not Vincent D’Onofrio - oh wait… it is!” front, I found him almost unrecognisable in The Salton Sea and I even had to look three times in “The Break Up” (although the voice gave it away).
The man is a-freakin-mazing.

mm

I saw Ocean’s Thirteen the other day and sat straight up in my seat when I realized that Agent Caldwell was former Letterman staple Bob Einstein aka Super Dave Osborne

How about the Klingon Captain in the “Unification” episode of ST:TNG?

“Be careful, android! Some Romulan beauty may take a liking to you…lick that paint right off your ears!”

Another one: In the first season of Stargate the SG-1 team meets an alien race called the Nox. About halfway through the episode I realized why the lead alien looked so familiar. Armin Shimmerman! Quark from Deep Space 9!

He was also Principal Snyder on Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

He also played the bizarre General McGrath (with the built-in ear-horn) in Wild Wild West – just noticed that this morning.

Elains fat former boyfriend in the Seinfeld ep. “The Junior Mint”

is Bub in Day of the Dead
