I was watching House and just realized Dr. Cuddy is the same actress who was one of George’s girlfriends on Seinfeld (the Risotto Girl in “The Mango”).
Fill in the blanks.
I was watching [this movie/TV show] and just realized [this character] is the same actor/actress who was [that character] in/on [that movie/TV show].
Ewan MacGregor (Obi Wan Kenobi) was the detoxing druggie in Trainspotting.
Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager (Tim Russ) was the guy combing the desert in Spaceballs who says, “man, we ain’t found shit!” He was also in the movie Star Trek: Generations as a human.
Christopher Judge (Teal’c from Stargate SG-1) (starring Richard Dean Anderson) was in an episode of MacGyver (starring Richard Dean Anderson).
Michael Shanks (Dr. Jackson from Stargate) and Tricia Helfer (Number Six from Battlestar) have both had runs in Burn Notice. Which of course also has Bruce Campbell in it.
Asta (the dog from the Nick and Nora shows) is George in Bringing up Baby.
My wife watches Elementary a lot. It was after seeing several episodes that I realized Johnny Lee Miller, who plays Sherlock Holmes, was Sick Boy in Trainspotting.
I’m a few episodes into (the first season of) American Horror Story and the guy with half of his face burned off looked familiar. Now, based on that, I never, ever would have placed it. If I had given myself some time, I could have figured it out based on his voice, but I paused it and jumped on IMDB. It’s Russell from True Blood.
Game of Thrones’ Margaery (whom I simply think of as Lady Cleavage) is the WAC who tried putting the moves on Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger.
IMDb also tells me she had a big role in The Tudors, but I never watched that.
Several years ago (as I reported on this Board) I was surprised to learn that Sig Ruman, who played Groucho Marx’ nemesis Hermann Gottlieb in A Night at the Opera, also played Sergeant Schultz in Stalag 17*
*The Billy Wilder/William Holden prison camp movie. I point this out because the last time I brought this up, someone who didn’t read too carefully objected that John Banner played Sergeant Schltz.
And played D.C Montana on The Highwayman. (Yes, somebody watched it.)
Last week I was watching an episode of The Avengers from 1968, and couldn’t place a familiar-looking actor. I looked it up and found that he was Bernard Cribbins, who played Donna Noble’s grandfather Wilfred on Doctor Who 40 years later.
