Power was “only” out for 17 hours? Heh, the power has never been out that long ever in my entire life at my house. (The longest was like 8 or 10 hours, during Hurricane Gloria, when I was a little girl.)
Is it wrong to hope, just a little, that my ex-fiancee, who lives in Los Fresnos, got hit in the head by a flying tree?
(Yes, I actually know it’s wrong. I just don’t like her. grump)
When Charley came through, I had co-workers who were without power for days.
And I believe when Hugo hit South Carolina, the power was out for two weeks…at least, that’s what the neighbor of the house we bought told us. She said they had block parties every night, with the men cooking on the grills in the middle of the street.
