Wal-Mart: Look out for falling IQs!

My god. Someone else who’s actually heard of Alco. Wow!

I myself do frequent a Wal-Mart, as it saves me a trip across town to Target (I live a block away from Wal-Mart). I prefer Target, but Wal-Mart is often a LOT cheaper. My most recent purchase was a Playstation 2 game that was $30 (vs $50 at Target). However, Target clearly has a better game selection. Wal-Mart in my town didn’t even stock Kingdom Hearts at release.

Wal-Mart is also right next to a Cub Foods, while Target is out in grocery store-less no-man’s-land, so convenience is really the major factor there.

Yes, Wal-Mart is certainly creepier, but then again, I don’t mind slumming. Besides, Target doesn’t carry the Weekly World News… :slight_smile:

I’ve had terrible luck at Home Depots (three different ones). There never seems to be anyone working there, the ones actually working huddle together behind a desk area talking to each other and are very careful to not look out where the customers are and the few actually on the floor helping have 50-100 (well say 10) customers flocking around them waiting for help.

This is three different Home Depots. I hate Home Depot. I do not understand why they have such a good reputation for helping.

{next Best Buy. YOU SUCK! Do you even have employees because the only ones I see are totally unhelpful.}

Nope, I love it!

Amen. And CompUSA can bite my ass. I went there looking for something very specific. This was about 8pm. I found what I wanted and walked up to the checkout line. There was noone in line, just a customer who had just checked out, who was apparently a friend of the cashier, because they were just sitting there chatting. I put my stuff on the counter and the cashier looked over and said “I’ll be with you in a minute!” and then went back to chatting with their friend. About totally inane personal stuff–not about anything CompUSA related, and not about anything that couldn’t wait until they checked me out with my one item.

I put the item back on the shelf, found the manager and told them why I was leaving, and left.

Was that the CompUSA over by the Barnes&Nobles at FairOaks Mall.

Used to work there. Hated it, the Manager just didn’t care.

Worked there for two years, hated it. IF you want to complain, check out many of the Wal mart sucks sights. A few of them got shut down.
