Walking With Dinosaurs -- Did you see it?

One of the ads that was shown numerous times was for some kind of online library. Enet or something. Anybody catch the URL?

I would’ve gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids!

I am still trying to get the image of enormous dino-turds thundering to the ground and then being devoured by whatever the equivalent of dung beetles was back then. I may have to call in sick tomorrow…

Libraries didn’t evolve until millions of years later.

One percent? Did anyone check the closets?

I watched it and thought that the dino that marked his new territory passed a lot of piss. And the on line info was Discovery.com homepage with links I believe.

I have abandoned my search for truth, and am now looking for a good fantasy.

No, it wasn’t on discovery.com, it was one of the five commercials that they ran over and over and over. It had a woman in a train, reading a book on her laptop.

It’s not the one you are asking about, but try the Internet Public Library
http://www.ipl.org/

Are you thinking of exn? If so, that’s actually part of the discovery channel website, as I recall.

The commercial you’re referring to was for “netlibrary.com.”

As far as the show itself, I thought it was fairly well done. I missed the part about the dino-turds, but I thought the gimmick of stylizing the whole show like a regular wildlife program on hyenas or newts or whatever was genius. As far as some of the behavioral details, I wish they could have said “…as far as we know,” because there’s no way some of that information can be known via the fossil record. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t have fit with the style of the presentation, so I understand why they didn’t do it. A remarkable achievement by any measure.

Thanks, Cervaise!

I thought the show was great. I really had to drag myself away from the TV to go home at 8 (long drive back to Huntsville, don’t you know). The only thing that drove me nuts was the constant ads, either commercials or that damn thing where the screen moves and they advertise discovery.com. It really disrupted what was a totally engrossing programme.
