In truth - while a false rape allegation from a high school student is a bad thing, and makes me angry, it doesn’t peg my outrage meter. Kids are stupid - it’s amazing how often I find one truly lacking in common sense.

It’s not the “lie for years” that’s outrageous. It’s the five years of the man’s life that she stole with that lie.
How long have you been out of high school? Accusing somebody of rape isn’t something you can chalk up to a juvenile mistake. I did some pretty shitty things when I was a teen, but they stopped well short of accusing people of rape.
Couldn’t agree more. Not only was an innocent man sent to jail, but women who actually are raped will have their story doubted. There are almost no words to describe the damage she has done.

I was wondering if you honestly thought that someone who has been falsely accused of rape and has done time for it should reject an opportunity to set up the bitch that framed him.

Women who falsely accuse and be proven so should pay for it. That’s a horrible horrible thing to do. It makes me furious.
But women who do make an accusation of rape and a jury finds the person not guilty? They should be protected. Like this woman.
To clear up the whole, “He friended her on facebook!!???!!!111!?” thing, he didn’t friend her.
She sent a friend request, which he did not accept, but he did PM her and offer to set up a meeting through a third party. Which they did.

Although you’re probably looking at a statute of limitations problem. But the prosecution can argue the clock is tolled until,they actually discover the crime. Not sure how California law works for this issue.
