I was just checking out the rest of that auction site.
At the December Miami auction some of the things up for bid are:
A pair of red flip flops, mens size 12
one pair mens red Nike shorts, size large
a Norelco hair trimmer, in it’s original packaging.
A pair of black mens Nike flip flops, size 9
A 6pack of Footlocker white socks
Really? The US Treasury is auctioning off flip flops and hair trimmers?
When I was at university and broke, I sold my record collection… don’t see why it’s any different for them…

Well it’s for any seized property. Those flip flops are Armani and look unworn and still have tags on. According to Armani.com - Official Website | Armani , they’re worth $20-$25. Definitely worth a place in the auction IMO.
http://www.ustreas.gov/auctions/treasury/gp/miami_genmerch.shtml has the full list of auctionable items. They’re even selling some Hennessy in a (hopefully/apparently) unopened bottle.
