When my brother first sent me computer hardware and software about ten years ago, he included CDs with the complete works of Shakespeare, Sherlock Holmes, The Guinness Disc of World Records, and Cinemania 94, a comprehensive movie encyclopedia. The computer I have now, with Windows 7, cannot read those discs and computer stores don’t carry newer versions. Where can I find them?
Now you can just download them. Out of copyright works can be downloaded for free all over the net in places like the Gutenberg project. Copyrighted works can be purchased through Amazon or iBooks.
Archive.org is a useful place for finding anything out of copyright.
