Since the heydays of MacOS 10.4, I’ve used iClock. I have no interest in and no use for the built-in MacOS menu bar clock, which doesn’t put the date IN the menu bar (I don’t want to have to click something to see the damn date), and iClock lets me display the combo of date and time exactly the way I want it:
11:27:07 AM • 9/15/16
… or, rather, it did. The old version of iClock I had been using (v 1.15b) isn’t compatible with 10.11 and so when I upgraded the OS I upgraded iClock to version 3.0
I can’t get it to put the date in the menu bar, only the time.
The developers have not been especially helpful in resolving the issue although they’ve asked me to compile an unabridged list of what doesn’t work and needs improving on and so forth. Yeah, maybe. But in the mean time I sure could use a menu bar DATE app, whether it gives me a clock as well or I end up using two separate utilities.
It has to be “9/15/16” format. I don’t want “Thursday Sept 15” or “15 Sep 2016” or “In The Year of Our Lord 2016 the 15th of the Ninth Month” or anything else.
Don’t want a DockClock (don’t use the damn dock, hate it), don’t want a Dashboard clock (likewise), just a freaking menu bar clock. Freeware best, shareware or commercialware OK for a reasonable price.
Recommend me something.
