War of the Monsters for PS2

I just bought this game after trying it out by rental, and it’s insanely fun! You can cause massive property damage, climb buildings, make volcanoes erupt…the works! If you like giant monster movies, this one is great. It has a lot of replay value, and the vs. mode takes some strategy. Of course, that’s all just my opinion. What’s yours?

My four year old likes it. Course he thinks big monsters fighting is way cool.

Hasn’t held my attention, but it looks pretty and is fun to play for ten minutes.

I think it’s a ton of fun. Massive mayhem! Both me and my eight year old son love it.

The replay value you mentioned is one of my favorite aspects. There aren’t many PS2 games I’ve seen that are fun to keep playing after you’ve completed the main story. WotM is more like an early arcade game. (Remember Rampage? This is 3-D Rampage.)

Two player head-to-head rumbles are a lot of fun too.

My husband and I have enjoyed this game immensely since we bought it about a month ago. Even after winning the extra characters, costumes, games and levels, it’s still fun to play. Seriously, the additional costumes for the monsters are the best. Aim for the 4th costumes, those are the most drastic ones.

Hey, NailBunny, have you unlocked the 4th Agamo costume? The cost is “SPECIAL”, and you can’t get it in the ordinary way, with Battle Tokens. We’ve even completed his adventure, figuring it would get opened somewhere in the course of it, but no joy. We’ve got everything unlocked but that one.

I’m not sure if we’ve gotten that one yet…I think we ran into the same confusion about how to get it. Mr. Bunny’s been the one focusing on unlocking all the costumes…Raptros’s fourth costume and Togera’s fourth costumes are my favourites. Now we can have the Devil fighting a flying skeletal dragon! Woo-hoo! Praytor’s bee-costume is also very cool.

Yeah, those two (Raptros 4 & Togera 4) are the favorite combo of my son and his friend. My favorite is Preytor 3 (Robo-Preytor).

Ah, well, guess I’ll have to go to Google on that Agamo costume…

Grrr! I just looked it up…

I used to have that game, but I got rid of it because I didn’t like it. And it’s certainly not worth buying it again just to get that costume. Oh well…

Yeah, the 4th costumes are sweet. Magmo’s and Robo-47’s are very very cool, and Ultra-V’s is awesome. Kinetoclops’s is odd though. The endurance battles are fun too, though I could wish for more of a selection as far as the battlegrounds go (Rosdale Canyon and the UFO are kinda limited.)

I love just rampaging through the cities, destroying and smashing…I’ve even shouted at the screen “Rah! I’m a Monsta!” as I crushed puny humans underfoot.

You’re kidding me! That’s how you get that costume?! Shit, tonight we’ll have to go rent that game and try and beat it with Sweet Tooth, then.

That sucks. I don’t think I’ve ever beaten Twisted Metal.
