But do they when it’s about groups of people they only interact with in a service capacity? I find they don’t. I mean it’s obviously the case because it’s happening right now almost everyday.
AFAICT @Zoobi was being sarcastic about the fact that the media and popular opinion has made a more noticeable fuss about Trump calling a (blonde white female) reporter “piggy” than about ongoing ICE abuses of nonwhite Americans and immigrants/residents. I don’t think they were trying to be mean to you personally.
About 20 years ago I had the fun experience of having the police break down our apartment door to serve a search warrant. No one was home at the time (thus the door-crash). Of course, the whole reason they executed the warrant was on some frivolous thing someone accused me of. Break down my door merely on someone’s accusation? So I assumed they would have to pay the door repairs.
Nope. Not the big 5-0. They get to break down doors with willful abandon.
Nope, the police definitely don’t have to pay. Customs can destroy your luggage and everything in it looking for drugs, find nothing, and say “huh, we thought you looked suspicious. You can go now”, leaving you with cut fabric and sool.
Did you ask your insurance company to pay? Did they?
