Unless it directly relates to the moderation or rules of this board, ATMB is not the place to discuss the honesty (or lack thereof) of any politician. Take this part of the discussion to the Elections forum, or if you prefer, the Pit.
I’m piling on late but I’ll add my two cents.
First off, the moderation of these boards have been great, IMO. I like the fact that the mods allow people to express themselves, and are willing to give posters a little leeway with the occasionally hot-headed post.
Others may have said it already but my take is that warnings should only be issued for really problematic posters – people who are deliberately trying to derail a discussion. It’s possible Adaher may have accidentally committed a thread jack, but there are thread jacks and then there are thread jacks. I agree with the others: if we’re talking about Hillary Clinton’s campaign, it’s almost impossible to avoid talking about her opponent, and vice versa. If Adaher had been warned two or three times within the span of 48 hours in the same thread, on the same page, okay, maybe I get it – ignoring the mods’ instructions. But even if he’s been warned before, say a week or two ago, memories fade and in any case the lines can get blurry, especially on the campaign threads.
Most of us don’t agree with Adaher on anything he’s written lately but he’s been a good poster and he doesn’t hit below the belt. I’m for cutting him some slack.
Or even better, post it in the thread that was linked to in the OP, since it was a discussion about Trump, and that copmment was also about Trump.
But I agree it was nothing to do with ATMB.
