Of the eight battleships, four were sunk and two of those were refloated, but back in service in 1944. Of the remaining, one was lightly damaged and the other three were damaged. They all were back in service in a year with the upgraded systems.
However, they were of limited value because of their slow speed, so mostly used for shore bombardments, except for the battle moving finger noted.
