There’s just as much evidence that he did as there is for the existence of your god. And just as much reason to believe in him.
The world is as bad as it is in no small part thanks to the existence of the greatest single evil in history; Christianity. Your god is not MY god, I have none, nor do I want one. Nor does he, by the evidence love anyone, or even exist.
I’m not masochistic enough to be thankful to a supernatural thug telling me “grovel or burn”, which is what your God is.
No, if you were me you’d know that there ISN’T any evidence for God or any of the associated mythology. There’s no rational reason to look at God as anything other than a primitive myth. Primitive, and vile.
there’s no big secret or super complex answer.
It’s simple. He didn’t want to see the ones he loved most in pain. So, as a selfless act He becomes born of man, lets worthless dogs murder him, and preaches to us while performing miracles. He did it out of love for his creation.
So, according to you, God created the ****hole we all live in. If he loves us, why did he create a ****hole for us to live in?
Why doesn’t he prove his own existence if he wants to be loved so bad? Why doesn’t he EARN that love?
Who made that rule?
What is your proof that he rose from the dead?
The real question I’m trying to ask is why did God need a sacrifice to change his own rules? If he wants everybody to go to heaven, why not just let them in? He’s only saving people from himself, so it makes no sense that he couldn’t just decide to save them without a sacrifice? A sacrifice makes no sense. What does God get out of a sacrifice?
Humanity made it a ****hole. We are a horrible race. We lie, cheat, kill and steal for our own benefit. God giving us free will = we might end up in Hell for our actions. It’s pretty simple.
And God isn’t the vile one, we are.
Which makes no sense. God didn’t need to sacrifice anything, being omnipotent. And Christianity has inflicted vast pain on the world; if God wanted to make the world better, he’d never have founded it ( assuming that he did, which he didn’t thanks to that whole being mythical problem ).
Typical; scrape the surface of a love preaching Christian, and you find someone who hates humanity.
The only one causing the pain is God. Why did he need a sacrifice to stop himself from torturing those people he loves so much?
We are nothing compared to God’s endless power. For you to make a demand, telling God he has to earn your love is extremely arrogant. And He did, He came down 2000 years ago in the form of a man. Shame you missed that one.
God made that rule.
The only proof is that the dozens of disciples he had suddenly came out from hiding one day and offered their neck. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t die for nothing, especially when you could have escaped. His followers decided to let Pilates come after them, even though they could have lived. Why would they do that?
And there was also hundreds of eyewitness accounts seeing him after he had died. Go to that site I linked.
He sacrificed himself, in a form equal to ours, so we could experience paradise in the afterlife.
God is omniscient, so he knew that if he created the Universe, humans, using their free will, would turn it into a hellhole (I assume that’s what you mean by ****hole).
He had the option of creating or not creating the Universe
If he chose not to create it he would have spared billions of his “beloved” humans from the various bad things that go on everyday in this hellhole.
But, he goes ahead and creates the Universe anyway, knowing full well that humans would turn it into a hellhole and that billions would suffer in this creation of his (unless you claim that God did not know that it would turn into a hellhole, i.e. you claim that he is not omniscient).
The choice to create the Universe, given his knowledge of how it would turn out, means that he doesn’t love humans as much as you claim.
Ok, you guys don’t know very much at all about Christianity (don’t say that you do, I’m having to explain everything I’m telling you) and I’m talking to 3 people at once here. Do some research before you leak ignorance all over the place.
Also, I don’t have a religion. I believe in God, but don’t practice any religion. Look at the world…you’d have to be an idiot not to realize how crappy of a species we are.
Lastly…If God did create the universe, that means his knowledge is VASTLY superior to ours. So I doubt we will be able to understand any of his actions.
Wait, which god? There have been a lot of them made up over the centuries, so you’ll need to be specific about which fictional character you believe in.
Did God have the option to create or not create the Universe?
It’s not arrogant; demanding that someone love you, THAT is arrogant. And EVERYONE now alive missed it, even assuming it happened. And that doesn’t prove love, anyway.
Because they were fools, or thought they could use religion for profit or power. And by your “logic”, EVERY religion or ideology on Earth is true that has ever had anyone risk itself for it. Which is utterly impossible, since they contradict each other wildly.
Please. All we have are the written down and repeatedly edited and translated versions of orally transmitted myths, that were chosen for the purposes of pushing Christianity. Completely unreliable. We don’t have “eyewitness accounts”; we have the recorded myth that there were eyewitness accounts.
Which he didn’t need to do.
hmm, not sure. I’ll go ask him. brb
Doesn’t that mean that we should never have any discussions about God? Why are you here discussing God then?
Also, if we can’t understand any of his actions, why do you interpret his actions as meaning that he loves us? You may be mistaken, right? Maybe his actions so far mean something else unfathomable to you, and you are just mistakenly interpreting them as him loving us.
But you, of course understand his actions just fine when you talk about how much he loves us and why he did what you say he did.
God doesn’t demand anything. He created everything you will ever know and beyond. All he asks for in return is your love. You don’t want to, then fine.
You don’t have to believe any of this…I’m not even sure if I believe it. For some reason though, you’re relentless in your debunking of a God. To each his own.
