Was Peter Sellers in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"?

Whilst watching “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” this evening, I noticed that the computer operator (who attempts to find the golden tickets with probability theory) has some very Strangelovian quirks and reminded me of Peter Sellers. Perhaps it was Sellers himself. I’ve tried to find out who exactly played the computer operator, but with no success. Does anyone here know?

IMDB says the Computer Operator’s name is Tim Brooke-Taylor.

never heard of such a thing.

Goodies… Goody Goody Yum Yum…

On the commentary on the DVD, it was said that computer guy’s scene was the last one shot for the film. The guy, Tim Brooke-Taylor, kept flubbing his lines and had to use multiple takes.

The crew was getting frustrated because they already had their bags packed and were ready to go home.

mmmm… lickable walpaper.

what do you get
when you gobble
down sweets
eating as much
as an elephant eats

“I will now tell the computer exactly what it can do with a lifetime supply of chocolate.”

I was 15 and had probably seen the move 30 times before I got the joke.

What are you at getting terribly fat,
What do you think will come of that,
I don’t like the look of it,
