I tried emailing the revival email address and got my email bounced back. I guess the revival did not get off the ground.
So very sad.
How come you can get the complete works of the Three Stooges on DVD but not an excellent series like Steve Allen’s “Meeting of Minds.”?
If only Allen had included the occasional pie fight…

I agree with you, how sad.
I also remember an episode where an ethnic Chinese woman played the Chinese Empress Tzu Hsi.
Baker:
I’d love to own episodes of Steve Allen’s show “Meeting of Minds” I found the interplay between characters from different eras quite fascinating.
Jayne Meadows, Allen’s wife, played most of the female characters that appeared, except for when the race of the character was different. For example, an Asian actress played Tzu Hsi, the Chinese Dowager Empress.
Watching Francois Marie Arouet, aka Voltaire, go up against Martin Luther was great.
I don’t think I ever saw them all, but even the ones I did see I’d like to see again.
Does anyone know if they were ever released in any video format?
I It has not been released on the market. Their son owns the rights but hasn't currently had any interest in putting the program out. Six episodes are on YouTube.
IIRC, Thomas Paine was in the episode with Cleopatra. They disagreed strenuously over human rights and the right of monarchs to rule.
Leon Askin did play both Luther and Marx. Other actors were featured in more than one role as well.
Have I really been that pedantically snarky all these years? Well played, young drop ! Those shows were un-watchable;.
