So what you’re saying is that Tea Partiers suck at basic math skills? OK, I could get behind that.

Imagine this woman and her sign at a TP rally. Imagine the glad greetings of joyful acceptance.
Her story (Born in Ohio, US Navy, cryptology) available here:

Warning! Reddit! Warning!
Like I said, it’s a hijack.
Apparently.
The idea is to persuade people to stop giving ratings to the loud and angry people.
It was a rhetorical question. You aren’t worth responding to in dialogue if that’s you’re attitude.
If you listened to conservative talk shows during the last years of the Bush administration you’d know that he was constantly castigated over spending.
Gee whiz, I didn’t mean to offend your genteel demeaner, Mr. Do You Want Me To Call You A Cocksucker, Rhetorically, That Is.
Then perhaps he should say, stop watching Keith Olbermann, or Glenn Beck, rather than making is seem like everyone in the media is equally culpable. Why should Rachel Maddow or Shepard Smith suffer because Glenn Beck is an idiot?
If I listened to conservative talk shows my IQ would have dropped around 80 points by now.
Where were the demos in DC? Where were the upstanding yeoman folk rallied to arms by the overspending? Why wasn’t Rush leading them to storm the Winter Palace or burn the Reichstag?
Because for the most part, the current 24/7 media is more like Beck than Maddow. Maddow and Smith are the exceptions, not the rule.
Seems to me that you did or you would apologize for using the term.
It’s impossible to have an IQ number in the negative but I should have assumed you had a much higher opinion of yourself given the name calling.
If Bush attempted to ram through the badly planned health care and stimulus package the Tea Party would have been born sooner. The current administration’s policy is “when confronted with a cliff, drive faster”.
He did not make the term up out of whole cloth you know. It was the term that they used FOR THEMSELVES until they found out it’s connotations.
Now, how about you respond to this:
True or false? And please spare me the supposed folks who called in to talk radio during Bush’s term. A few crank callers does not equal public rallies in the streets. Where were the rallies? Do you deny that the whole “Tea Party” phenomenon was created after Obama’s Inauguration?
I won’t apologize to you for using the term “Teabagger.” I’ll use it as much and as often as I like. You don’t like it? Tough noogies. But when you respond to it with, “Oh yea? Cocksucker!” then who gives a shit if you’re offended or not?
Not really. The guy holding the niggar sign is older, has grey in his beard, and is at least 80 pounds heavier than Mr. Levin.
I notice that your linked page also includes an attempt to defame 2 people that the author has absolutely no evidence he can use to link them to anything, and that he proudly bleats about determining Mr. Levin’s private contact information. Will the author be happy when that happens to him?
I’m glad to hear you say so, because it is quite accurate. The budget Obama wanted Congress to pass includes $1.56 trillion in deficit spending.
Bush’s failure to control spending was one of his biggest failures as a President. Several Dopers, myself included, have mentioned this. The difficulty being that so many Dopers have difficulty with nuance - anything besides fanatic hatred gets lumped under unquestioning support.
That’s interesting. Could you cite me a few of the times that the right wing called people “unpatriotic” for criticizing increased government spending under Bush?
The opposite, sure, thathappens, but not what (AFAICT) you appear to be claiming.
Regards,
Shodan
A reminder as to the origin of the term. Note, btw, that the link is incorrect in one respect - the stimulus packages were a Bush Administration idea that didn’t get protested by any organized group until the “Kenyan Muslim” (that’s code too, ya know) took over the White House. There wasn’t a peep from the Foxwatchers about deficit spending, the end of the Clinton surpluses, or the loss of real income for most of the population on Bush’s watch until then, either, as you may recall. Or may not.
If nothing else, this entire thread has shown me that the rally was held almost completely in vain.
That makes me sad.
:dubious: You do understand, don’t you, that there’s no equivalency between the Black Congressional Caucus and a hypothetical “White Congressional Caucus” or whatever?
Look, this is a joke thread, right?
