Titanium, Swiss, and a sapphire crystal. I can heartily recommend Tissot watches.
What the hell does a Xenomorph from the Alien movies need a watch for, anyway?
On the recommendation of someone on this board, I bought a Vostok watch. I needed something that would be durable enough when I played with my kids - and that includes biking and swimming. I didn’t want to have to take the thing off to give them a bath either.
This thing is very durable - stainless steel, waterproof to 200 meters (!), very tough linked band, tough crystal. Self winding, so you’ll not have to invest in batteries. It cost fifty bucks - so if you do destroy it, it can safely be regarded as disposable.
I used to joke I’d only buy caviar and vodka from the Russians, but I’ve added watches to the list.
My son has an allergy to nickel as we found when he was an infant. The snaps on his sleepers caused rings of raised skin on his belly and chest, and now his pant button will also cause discomfort. Keep in mind that Stainless Steel contains nickel as part of its stainless component. Different compunds exist and some may cause a reaction while others do not. We’ll have to be careful when we get him a watch.
Titanium compounds should be safer (and lighter). I think the tungsten compounds are compartively heavy. Try them on first.
