I’m looking for recommendations on good Watergate books published in the last 20 years or so. I’ve got some of the older books, like All the President’s Men, but I’d like a book (or books) that provides an overview with the inclusion of the tapes, and the Deep Throat reveal, and some of the other information that has come up as time passed.
Any suggestions?
My recommendation is The Wars of Watergate by Stanley Kutler. Published in 1992. It’s excellent.
I have all the Watergate books that came out in the 1970s; the ones written by the participants and ones by journalists and this is the best written, best researched and most dispassionate chronicle of those events, IMO.
Thank you. I will look for that.
John Dean’s The Nixon Defense is a good recent one.
This seems like a good place to mention that this is the 45th anniversary of the Watergate burglary.
I knew that! The scandal began…
