Just curious: how long was the gap on the Watergate tapes—11 minutes, 18 minutes, or some other number?
“His eyes are as green as a fresh-pickled toad,
His hair is as dark as a blackboard,
I wish he was mine, he’s really divine,
The hero who conquered the Dark Lord.”
Thank you.

Coincidentally enough, about the running time of “Alice’s Restaurant.”
Transcripts and RealAudio of the Watergate tapes are available here. If you care.
I do care. Thank you!

It all makes sense now!
Now there’s nothing unexpected about the water giving out; “Land” is not a word we have to shout.
Speaking of Watergate, sort of, there was a question on WWTBAM tonight that asked which of these four guys was Speaker of the House before becoming president. I don’t remember all four choices, but two of them were James Polk & Gerald Ford. The guy got it wrong–he said Gerald Ford. I could have sword Gerald Ford was Speaker of the House when Nixon appointed him Vice-President. Then I started thinking about it, and thought maybe he was President Pro Tem of the Senate? So I called my mom. My mom thought he was Speaker, too.
So, are we wrong, or did WWTBAM whiff one big time?
This space blank, until Wally thinks up something cool to put here.
He was the Republican House Minority Leader.
