Watermelon rind

What is the nutritional value of the rind of a watermelon? I’m told that it contains more nutrients than any other part. Is this true?
Also, what kind of damage can eating the rind do to my digestive system?

I am clueless on the nutritional value, but as one who ate scads of pickled watermelon rind (a Southern delicacy)in my youth, I can tell you that its main effect on your digestive system is to make your taste buds happy.

According to this cite watermelon rind contains citrulline, which in turn is used by the body to create the amino acid arginine. As to what arginine does for you, I leave that to you to ferret out.
