Tom Noe sung my Uncle’s favorite hymnal and personal request How Great Thou Art at his funeral. He passed after a long and painful battle with cancer. I was truly moved by his genuine care and respect. It was very emotional and he has my respect, regardless.

Tom, through experience we endure.Backs turn and friends prove themselves, find what is important. Best wishes.
You’re supporting Tom Noe because he did a good job of singing at your uncle’s funeral? With all due respect to you and your late uncle, this does not make Noe a good man. The same mentality exists with people who support Bush because they feel “like they can have a beer with him.”
On the other side of the coin (heh), I’m starting to feel more and more like Tom Noe is being set up as the fall guy for this whole debacle. If I have the situtation correct, it appears the Repuglicans were trying to filter monies from the state coffers into their own war chests, using Noe as a money launderer, in effect. “We’ll by your rare coins as an “investment” of state funds, but just remember who did it for you, okay?” The thing that puts Noe on the hook is that he actually agreed to do it.
Please, someone tell me if I’m incorrect in my interpretation.
I’m not supporting Tom Noe in his actions and the greed, graft, and good 'ol boys of the Republican machine. I am just not going to attack him personally, that’s a Rebublican tactic.
You’re incorrect. The Republican politicians in this debacle were NOT instrumental in this. While it is no doubt “payback” for favors granted, there is little to suggest this was some grand plan by the Republicans to steal money from the State coffers. MY own take is that Noe had a one-on-one realationship with an official in the Workmen’s Comp. and convinced him to make the investment. If anyone should be sent to prison, it’s the guy who signed off on this deal. May happen yet.
To revive this dinosaur, in case anyone is still following the game, Tom Noe was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury on fifty-three felony counts. He’s currently free on a half-million dollar bond (which is in addition to a $350,000 bond for his previous indictment on several federal felony money-laundering counts relating to his contributions to the Bush-Cheney campaign in '04).
The Toledo Blade story linked gives an excellent overview of the whole affair for anyone coming to the story late.
