My brother used to take rolls of pennies in a store and see if he could get cashier to accept it. Like $20 bucks worth. It was a game. He had mixed results. Some cursing.

Now, most stores would be glad to take them. Banks charge businesses a fee when they get rolls of coins from the bank (and then another fee if they deposit cash or coins).

I suppose a person could short a penny or two from the roll, but that’s hardly worth the effort.

Ingredients:

1 cup almond butter
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup packed light-brown sugar
2 large eggs
½ teaspoon coarse salt

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a bowl, stir together almond butter, chocolate chips, sugar, eggs, and salt until a dough forms.

Place 1-tablespoon mounds of dough 1 inch apart on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake cookies until puffed and tops are set, about 10 minutes.

Transfer to a wire rack and let cool. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container up to 3 days.
