My sister made cookies with bacon grease one year. They were interesting. I prefer butter, but i can imagine preferring the bacon-grease version.
If one has a severe allergy one would be wise to volunteer this when being invited.
“I’d love to come to dinner. By the way, shrimp would kill me – literally.”
“Okay, no scampi, then. Would tilapia be okay?”
I agree that the guest should speak up about known allergies/sensitivities, but IMO a responsible host will ask if info isn’t volunteered.
Of course, it should be asked and or offered.
I didn’t intend this thread to be about food allergies.
We put a tiny bit of msg in the dredge mix for catfish. We have had large crowds here eat the fish my son fries up. Many people say msg bothers them but they keep eating the fish like it’s going out of style.
Even I say it.
No problems yet.
