Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought that if an employer is allowing an employee to put in unpaid hours, the employer is acting illegally.
If you’re doing the work of your job, then you need to be getting paid for it. And if that means the employer’s got to pay you overtime, why, that just might be the incentive the employer needs to get tough with the offending parents.
The employer has the power to change the situation. The parents have the power to change the situation. The employee does NOT have the power to change the situation, and that’s why the employee should NOT be the one getting screwed over.
