Impeccable timing on that comment, as always.

Okay! A huge favor to Leicester by WHU. All they have to do is win at home. You have to think Chelsea will pick up at least a point at home versus Wolves, since they’re already 0-2 v Liverpool today.
That Pulisic kid is alright.
Chelsea should sell Kepa and Kante, buy Onana, and two CBs.
I’m sure Lampard is kicking himself for not starting him. I expect he won’t make the same mistake on Saturday.
With a CL spot on the line? It would be a “gutsy” call for sure. Pulisic has been their best player since the break. Hell, he’s among the best in the league since the break. If Pulisic doesn’t start and Chelsea don’t win people will be calling for Lampard’s head.
I know this is an EPL thread, but has anyone noticed what Atalanta has been doing in Italy? If not, check out the scores of their games. Could have been another Leicester type story, if not for Juve acquiring Ronaldo last year.
Juve won the league like 7 years in a row before Ronaldo, I don’t think he pushed them over the top.
But yeah, they’ve scored the most goals in Italy in like 70 years. Super interesting that it’s not really one person really having a blow out year either, they have 5 players in the 25 scorers in Serie A.
I need to read up on them more in depth than just breaking records. Some tactical innovations going on?
I thought even if Man U had beaten West Ham, Leicester winning at home would still see them finish ahead? The real difference would have been if West Ham had won, a draw would have been enough for Leicester. So I don’t think they really did them much of a favour.
If Man U had won, then Leicester would have had to heat Man U by an equal or greater number of goals if I read correctly. Given that Sundays match is being played at Leicester and they have Vardy, they should be a slight favorite to win.
Sorry, yes you are correct - although if Man United had only won by one goal, and scored 3 or less, it would have amounted to the same thing.
I don’t think Leicester are favourites, home advantage doesn’t mean much when there is no crowd. And hopefully Maguire knows how to handle Vardy. I’m well aware I could be made to eat my words here, though.
I’m still hoping Bournemouth escape - they can still do it if they win and Watford and Villa both lose, which given their respective opposition does not seem totally implausible - though Villa are playing West Ham, who will presumably relax now their survival is assured. You never know though, sometimes that can produce a good performance.
Heh, Pulisic starts, but maybe whether or not it was the correct decision is up in the air. He’s been awful in the first half. Did have a nice half dribble and a hockey assist for the second goal though.
I didn’t watch today, since I watched the Leicester game, but I’d say he’s literally been Chelsea’s best player this season, and especially after the restart. Would be odd to not have him start when it counts.
Time to fire Brendan Rodgers. I was a fan of his during the Suarez days at Liverpool, but I thought they over-achieved. Now I think maybe he held them back. Looking back, that ‘12 - ‘14 was loaded with talent.
Pulisic has been their best player since the break
And I’d keep an eye on that Mason Mount kid.
Atalanta’s Cinderella UCL run on pace to continue. With Mbappe out, this tournament is a good chance for Neymar to enhance his “all-time” credentials rather than just generational so I’ll be interested in him the rest of this game.
Ironically, as the 19/20 Euro Cups play out, friendlies for the 20/21 season have begun. Dortmund beat a small Austrian club 6-0. Sancho started. What a weird year this has been.
Not just friendlies. I’m pretty sure that competitive matches for the 20/21 UCL have started as well.
That’s rough. 90 and 90+3 minute goals for PSG. Maybe they just needed to knock some rust off since I think they’ve only had like 2 competitive games since March.
Heartbreaking for Atalanta. But PSG showed they are the better side by the end. Even if it went to ET, I think PSG had a much better chance. Does anyone know if this Atalanta team will stay intact? I love their style of play, so hope it continues into ‘20-‘21.
