It’s funny to hear about people surprised to find turkeys in their yard. Here in Wisconsin, you practically trip over the damn things as soon as you get slightly out of the city. I’ve had to stop my car because a flock (gaggle? murder? exaltation?) of them was blocking the road!
Knowing how dumb turkeys are, I’d say the correct term is probably “goober.”
Heh, goober. Goober. Goooooober. “Hey look! It’s a goober of Turkeys.”
But unfortunately, it’s a rafter or a gang (or a good ol’ flock) of turkeys.
