We Have Coca~Cola Syrup. Now What?

My husband ended up with a large container of Coca~Cola syrup. Are we going to be able to mix ourselves up some Coca~Cola with it, by adding it to carbonated water?
If not, what do we need to do this? It’s just one container, and not really worth getting any sort of equipment to do the job. Should we just throw it away?

Simplest solution is to put it into a glass and add club soda. You will have to experiment to get the right proportion, but that’s just a matter of measuring out the ingredients.

When I worked fast food, the ratio was 5:1 carbonated water to syrup (5.5:1 for diet drinks). I THINK you should be able to buy club soda or use a Soda Stream or other carbonator and mix it at that ratio and you should be good to go.

When I was a kid, you could get Coke syrup from the Drug Store. He put it in a cough syrup bottle and my Mother used it on us kids when we were nauseous. Still wish you could get it.

You usually can. It’s one of those items that they usually hold behind the counter, because it doesn’t sell that fast (not because you need a prescription). Just ask.

You can at Gordon Food Service(Pepsi, too, perhaps). I’ve never done it, but it is available.

Yes, indeed–I always keep a bottle of Cola Syrup in my fridge for when I am too ill to get anything else down. A tablespoon over crushed ice is a *lifesaver *when you have a stomach virus or food poisoning.

I was going to post this as well. when I was a kid I would take it when I had an upset stomach.

Thank you!

You may want to try using seltzer instead of club soda. Seltzer is nothing more than carbonated water; club soda has a dash of salt added to give it some flavor. Some people can’t taste the difference, others can.

You can buy coke syrup at Vermont County Store online

Don’t forget a dash of Rum in the glass too.

 Rum & Coke best drink out there.
