For the first time ever, Canada may soon have armed personnel guarding the interior of airplanes.
Part of the new regs handed down by Transport Canada says the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are to provide armed officers on planes.
So far there are no details about which planes will have guards, how this is supposed to be implemented.
It looks like the RCMP will have to create a new branch.
