We knew Arrested Development couldn't hang on forever

Also, Michael Rapaport is painfully ugly. Just making sure the list is complete.

As of right now, Season 2 is number 2 on Amazon’s Top DVD sales and Season 1 is number 4.

So the DVDs have done very well, which augurs well for a Season 3 release, at least. It’s even possible that, like Family Guy, the DVD sales could justify resuming production (ohpleaseohpleaseohplease . . . )

Does anyone know how many episodes they finished before Jason Bateman needed time off to recover from vocal cord surgery? I hope they can finish 13 episodes, but if they haven’t already I’m fearful they won’t bother finishing that up.

It’s a really expensive show to make in every way… I’m hoping too, but if I had to pick a solution, I’d like HBO to do it.

Someone else said he’d already had that surgery, so they’d already have resumed production.

I loved David Cross’s stand up special on HBO. It’s the funniest hour of stand up comedy I’ve ever seen. Mr Show with Bob and David on HBO was good also. It was unique and funny. I watched it regularly.

Arrested Development just wasn’t funny or entertaining. I’m sorry, but it wasn’t. Maybe it got better over time, but I watched the first few episodes and they were painful to get through. I never would have even watched as long as I did had I not already been holding high hopes for the show. Hopefully Cross will move on to something else soon.

Hey, for anyone still interested in the DVDs, Best Buy will be selling seasons 1 and 2 for $15 EACH on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). If you feel like fighting the greedy mongol hordes and waiting in line (or you plan to be there anyway for different things), that’s a real bargain.

I will say this… even though i’m not a fan of the show (tried to like it, just never “clicked” with me), i can understand the rage of the fans, they ditched AD for the horrible “Lowest Common Denominator” All in the Family/Married with Children ripoff show of “the war at home” (so bad it’s not worth capitalizing), that show is so bad it almost makes reality TV worth watching, almost

then again, nothing short of a prefrontal lobotomy could get me to voluntarily watch “reality” tv…

The Sopranos and Six Feet Under and probably more never do more than 13 shows–granted they’re hour long, but they’re out there on dvd. #2 & #4 begs for season 3. And you know, they’re probably going to put lots of other things on these dvds besides just the show. I’m getting Season 1 for xmas so I haven’t seen them yet. Now I’ll pick up Season 2 next week.

resuming production…they’ve given it so many chances already.

Just buy both from Amazon for $1.94 more (31.94 for both seasons). By the time you fight the crowd, pay tax, and factor in time and gas money, you will come out ahead. That’s assuming you want both seasons.

Looks like the Bluths will be back for a few episodes with a vengeance, but you kinda guessed that anyway.

Arrested Development goes out with one last shot*
Oh, this is going to be funny.

An upcoming episode of Arrested Development will be titled “Save Our Bluths,” which just happens to be the name of the internet campaign to save the show. In the show, George Sr. will even talk about the Home Builders Organization saving the Bluth company. Look at those initials. When they turn them down, he considers putting on a dinner show (time).

Bateman’s character says: “We’ve had plenty of chances…maybe the Bluths just aren’t worth saving.” Heh.*

Note: And I had no idea where to put this. Search found about 15 threads in the last month with ‘arrested’ and ‘development’ in the title. I thought this was best, and didn’t want to piss of the masses and start yet another new thread.
