OK, it’s fixed.

It would be nice to hear something from The Powers That Be about today’s issues.
They probably can’t get signed in either.

Probably not, but the homepage for the column mentions the Twitter account @Str8dope_com. So in a situation like this one, it would be helpful for Someone In Charge to post a tweet to inform people what is going on.
Just came back for me.
Whatever the problem, it gave me a rash …
It’s back! Nothing but 503 for a while there.
Any official announcement will have to come from Ed, but it looks like it was a technical glitch. Everything seems to be working now, but if you experience any trouble, please let us know. If you can’t post, you can contact us via e-mail. For those of you who are members of the facebook group, I’ll be checking that periodically as well.
I’m glad it’s back. I was forced to do actual work at work while it was down. But by the way, a big limitation on the board was always that it was running on an underpowered server (and it had only very limited attention from the technical staff). After the recent attack it appears (based on the references to Cloudfront in the error messages) that the site is now hosted by Amazon Web Services. I’m assuming this means that the servers are no longer a limitation. So can we expect any improvements as a result? For example, perhaps the search restrictions could be loosened?
In case it’s useful info to someone: I get notified by email when there are new posts to threads I’ve subscribed to. Normally these come in immediately. For the past week or ten days there have been recurrent stretches where there are NO notifications all day (even when a visit to the website shows there are new posts) and then the next morning I will suddenly get a backlog of 20 or 30 new post messages in one gush.
