Everyone is entitled to be accorded the same rights and privileges. No one should be disdvantaged because of their skin colour, race, sexual preference etc. etc.
This is especially true in the most contrasting of cases: the gender issue. No man or woman should be put above (or below) someone else based on their gender.
Having said that I believe we should be careful not to treat men and women as exactly the same. We have different outlooks, perceptions, dreams, reaction, chemistry’s, and while the law should ensure no deferential treatment it should be equally careful not to overstep itself.
We ARE different and it simply isn’t possible to come up with one set of rules that fully encapsulates our range of differing views (even if we could just reduce it to two groups).
Men and women are not identical and thank god for that.
We should be celebrating our differences not trying to remove them.
