Weather Geeks Only

This site it great if you want to see weather patterns at different levels of the atmosphere. Height is expressed in hPa, which is roughly:
1000 hPA - surface
850 - 5000’
700 - 10,000’ (top of most mountains)
500 -18,000’
300 - 30,000’ (commercial flights)
I like to overlay temp on the wind map. There is an interesting storm approaching northwestern North America Sunday April 10th (today).
Click ‘earth’ in the lower left corner for settings.

Pretty cool!

I like windy.com too.

Thanks! Very cool. I like that they have the different models (ECMWF, GFS…) This might take some time to learn all the features.

Going to Aruba for a week next month. Looking forward to resting in a hammock with those cool NE Tradewinds blowing.

Very nice. Have fun in the sun! Here in Oregon not so warm; it’s unusual for it to snow in April where I live. The 500 heights NW of Oregon look impressive…
