Weber Beer

There used to be a beer named “Weber”. It came in 16 ounce bottles. It was last made by Pickett Brewing in Iowa. I haven’t seen this stuff for well over 15 years. Anyone know what happened to it, and/or pickett Brewing?

A fairly diligent web search has turned up zip, nada, zilch, zero, squat, nothing specific concerning Weber Beer. I did, however, find the following trivia.

The founder of Pickett Brewing, of Iowa, was one, Joseph Pickett, 57. Good ol’ Joe founded Pickett Brewing, with his family, after leaving G. Heilmann. No word on the year he did that or what happened to Pickett Brewing. Joe got his start in the brewing industry at the ripe age of 14 working for the Edelweis Brewery in Chicago, Illinois.

A couple years ago, Joe quit his job as an instructor at the Siebel Institute of Technology brewing school in Chicago to develop and market a product called “Above All.” Above All is an all-natural whole-grain (barley) soda produced by the Lifestyle Beverage Corporation. Above All is brewed, but this brew also contains fruit – plus 19 amino acids, eight vitamins, folic acid and 10 minerals. It does not have caffeine, corn syrup or phosphoric acid – all key ingredients in popular colas and other sodas. Above All comes in several varieties, notably, Caribbean Lime, Orange Creme and Bountiful Berry and sells in the Chicago area for a healthy $3.99/six-pack.

All this is provided as information to help you search further, or you could write to goo ol’ Joe at Lifestyle Beverage. As for me, I’ll stick to beer, thank you very much.
