I’ve been working on a website to help homeowners figure out ways to lower their gas and electric bills and lower their carbon footprint. I finished the first section which uses information from utility bills to show users how they’re using energy (i.e. how much a year you spend on hot water, space heating, cooling, lights and appliances) and how that compares to the typical house. It then gives personalized suggestions on the best ways you can save on energy. Right now it only really works for the greater Chicago area.
Please give it a try, because I just got it up and running and would love any feedback on it! I’m not associated with a company or anything, I’m a recent graduate who was anxious to give this idea a shot. Please pass it on to anyone.
Thanks for reporting it, Oakminster. It appears to be a link to BKellam’s own website, but since he’s not selling anything (and there doesn’t seem to be any viral activity that I’ve seen), we’re letting it stand. Making folks aware of energy usage is a good thing.
If anyone does see any hints of any difficulties with this, please let me know at once. I don’t pretend to be very knowledgable in virus-detection, etc. Otherwise, we’re assuming it’s just what it says it is.
