A while back I was pointed to the Webwasher program in a thread somewhere on this board. ( I don’t remember where, and am too lazy to look.) I installed it and am very pleased, except that, when I am here, I have to disable webwasher or I get nothing but a blank screen. Does anyone know why that is?
If there has already been a thread addressing this, I am sorry, but let me know, please.
Summing up, you are too lazy to look for something on your own and you wish us to help you bypass our advertisers, who happen to be our only (small) source of revenue? Sorry man, ain’t gonna happen.

Gee, I guess I deserved that. I really hadn’t thought about the impact on the Board’s advertising banners, and wasn’t trying to get rid of them. I was just wondering.

What amazes me the most is that a BANNED user was the only one who gave me any real information.

So to sumarize, the Mods are rather against software that removes banner ads, and have no qualms about being very rude in voicing it. Sigh.

I myself use Guidescope. Do a google search for it and the first link you’ll come across will help you decide if you need Guidescope or Internet Junkbuster. Useful site, that.
At the present time our only source of revenue on this site is the piddly amount we get from ads.

Wow - and all this time I’ve been routinely clicking on the ads, to 1) see if they are interesting, and 2) to try and help out the Board.
Come on guys - the ads here are so small and so unobtrusive. And they help the Board out. I guess we’ll have to do it this way, since the way I and others suggested for Board funding was not acceptable (I guess Zotti didn’t like my story after all, since he never even mentioned me).
I don’t know how it could be defensible to wipe the ads out, unless you are posting from a computer in Ghana with a 1200 baud connection…
There are ads on this board?!? Oh yeah, now I remember … that tiny litle banner in the upper left-hand corner, which disappears as soon as I scroll down, and reminds me to keep my breath fresh. Right…
Do we need to click on the ads for them to have any effect, or is just viewing them enough?
