Oddly, enough. I’ve always kinda liked Michigan State. Perennial scrappy underdogs.
They have a good chance this year of getting in to the payoff. They’re already in the top ten and they have a decently easy schedule. The biggest challenges for the Spartans are going to be Nebraska and Ohio State. Those are both paper tigers this year.
ETA: Well, Indiana could throw a monkeywrench in there.

Do you auto-deduct points from those who didn’t participate at all, because they failed to pick a loser in games between two ranked teams?
If not, I’d recommend it.
I don’t object to that, but the scoring is Zeldar’s gig. I’m just the bookkeeper! 
This late in the season it would be unfair. Before we start next year’s polls we can have an extensive discussion of things to change, add or drop.
I’m open to improvements! But I suspect that penalizing people for not voting in a particular week’s poll would be counterproductive.
