School House Rock - Conjunction Junction

They were little cartoons that showed in the 70’s on Saturday morning cartoons - designed to teach us! They worked pretty well, too.

Apparently, very few people interpreted this one as strictly as I did.

I shouldn’t’ve said Trix – I just did because of my username. Apparently I’m not the center of the universe. :frowning:

ETA: Excellent theme, bmoak, and thanks as always, Dolores.

Man, I did awful. I can’t believe somebody else said “Bag of Glass” for an unsafe toy… That’s amazingly awesome!

Lawn Darts beat BB Gun? I said “jacks” because I drew a blank.

Woo-hoo! The total irony that I won the Kid’s Stuff feud while I was over in MPSIMS fretting about whether my neighbors are running a meth lab!

They kept showing them all through the 80s as well.

Curse you, tag and ‘greasy grimy gopher guts’!

I thought people might interpret it as characters acted by Jim Henson.

But then I couldn’t think of one and picked Grover.

Who was voiced by Frank Oz. :smack:
ETA: Tag ain’t got nuthin’ on red rover. I was awesome at red rover.

I’m surprised Captain Kangaroo was such a conch. Never liked the guy myself.

I’m also surprised by the lack of variety for Schoolhouse Rock. I knew #1 would either be “I’m Just a Bill” or “Conjunction Junction”, but I’m surprised they were the ONLY ones. No love for “Interjections!”, “Lolly, Get Your Adverbs Here”, “Interplanet Janet”,
“Zero, My Hero”, “3 is a Magic Number” or “No More Kings”?

I’m surprised lawn darts was such a big winner, with so many unsafe toys to choose from. I almost went with Kerbangers, myself.

And there was a red rover joke on Big Bang Theory last week, too! Now I know who the non-nerds are.

Seriously, nobody but me has toddlers at home? I thought Steve from “Blue’s Clues” would get at least a couple of answers.

Sigh…wish I could say the same. The last time I played Red Rover, I wound up with 5 stitches, a knot the size of a walnut, unconscious for 5 minutes and a concussion.

They had Red Rover on Ugly Betty last week as well.

Ironically, tag is hardly ever played at recess anymore. This is another case of me knowing too much about modern day kids.

See, that sounds like you were kinda awesome at red rover, too! In a “people are staring in slack-jawed amazement” sorta way.
