I would like to thank everyone who made this possible. My dog Lucky, the 47 cookies I ate last night, and of course the $100 bribe for a $20 game.

Once I get and play the game, I’ll try to come back and leave a review.

Thank you all for entering and congratulations to Wolverine! I’ll reach out to you with your code as soon as I can get my computer unpacked. (Steam doesn’t play well my cellphone.) Hopefully within the next 16 hours.

Whee! Welcome to the winner’s circle, Wolverine.

Y’all are awesome for doing this.

Congrats Wolverine! I look forward to reading that review.

Too late for the drawing, but I think that one’s going in my library anyway.

I just finished the game and I enjoyed the parts I could enjoy.

The cons:

[ul]
[li]Unfortunately, my laptop seemed to have technical difficulties with the game even though I met the requirements. After playing with the settings, I still felt like I was moving in molasses with major lag.[/li][li]The sound was often distorted which severely hampered my enjoyment since the story is told through audio journals. I was able to understand half of the journals, but missed the other half. (You can review the text later).[/li][li]If I was the protagonist, I would have called the cops after 10 min. and sat on the porch waiting. There’s no way I would have just calmly explored the house.[/ul][/li]
The pros:
[ul]
[li]Great atmosphere and ability to capture a typical '90s house (other than it’s a mansion).[/li][li]Great pacing. The story slowly unfolds, but it never comes to a crawl, never sidetracks (to me), never goes too long before another journal.[/li][li]Lots of hidden stuff. I still plan on going back to discover more about the family. I missed a bunch.[/li][/ul]

Even with those major drawbacks, I still came out with an overall positive experience. I don’t want to talk about the story with people that haven’t played it, but it was good.

Thanks for the review. I’m planning on getting it. Not sure why I’m waiting for it to be on sale, it’s only $20. The way I look at it, playing it on a regular PC I’ll be able to avoid all the cons and be left with nothing but pros…
