So I jumped onto Amazon to check out prices on Birkenstock sandals, because my current ones are, quite honestly, ready for the compost bin.

So I came across an ad for a (reasonably priced) pair, checked the product description in the details, and it said they required 1 x AAA battery. For a pair of sandals?

A video that I first thought was an ad for for a criminal defense attorney that successfully defended two Black Lives Matter activists. I was in the jury.

Turns out, the video was an ad for Birkenstock sandals.

No mention of batteries but the Birkenstock sandal wearing public defender was once paid in tomatoes.
