I bought a new Air Conditioner last year. A pretty nice Samsung window uni tha does the job pretty well, with one minor issue. For some reason this year it has decided that it doesn’t want to just spit out cold air, but cold waer as well, and LOTS of it. It’s bee humid out so I’m guessing that’s a factor, but one would think there’d be something to take care of that. In any case, I looked for some way to open an exhaust vent, if any and came up with nothing. Beyond that, I wouldn’t even know what to begin looking at. Searching the net didn’t help at all so I bow to the wisdom of the Teeming Millions. Anyone have any idea what’s going on here?
There should be a little hole at the bottom of the unit on the outside half to drain off the condensed water…perhaps your unit’s hole is plugged by debris?
As the unit fan moves humid air across the evaporator coil, which is cold, moisture in the air condenses, and is usually directed via a pan, tray, or similar assembly to a tube which directs said moisture to the outside. I’m going to guess that you took the window unit out during the off season, lessening the likelihood of crud accumulation in the drain plumbing, as suggested by Enola Straight?
Provided that you did, and the unit is only one year old, the next question is whether or not the unit is pitched properly, e.g. level or slightly tilted to the exterior of the dwelling. Interior tilt could be a source of fan induced whizzage.

Hey, as my thermo prof said, if you can figure out how to lower temperature without creating condensate…you’d be a millionaire! Unfortunately, it’s just the way mother nature works…

Thanks. I’ll check all of that out when I get home. I think it’s pretty well parallel to th window sill so a bit of an angle might help things out.
