Weird Google behavior

Or maybe it’s actually weird connection behavior. About a week ago, I noticed that I was unable to use Google at work. Every time I tried searching, I ended up with a totally blank page instead of a page of search results.

I use a laptop with a docking station. I have an Ethernet cable that plugs into the dock. I also have a wireless connection. The weird Google behavior ONLY happens if I am using the wired connection. If I’m using the wireless connection, Google works fine.

I know our IT person has been doing some things to the network to increase security. I recently had to change to a different IP address, and I’m pretty sure that’s when this Google weirdness started.

I’m just curious as to why it’s happening. Anybody have an idea?

They may have set a firewall that blocks out Google on the hard-wired connection, but not on the wireless connection.

My job has done this as well; very annoying as I use Google all day long for my job…

That behavior sounds kind of like spyware. I’d make sure you’re computer has the latest spyware updates.
