We’ve got the 4th of JulyFreedom Festival coming up on Wednesday here in Houston, and it just caught my attention that it’s BP who’s sponsoring it.
All well and good, right?
Yeah, I think that’s great, but I note few catch the irony of British Petroleum sponsoring a celebration of our break-away-from-Britain event (birth o’ modern democracy an’ all that). Perhaps they really were glad to be rid of us.
Not a problem, really. I consider the Brits in a well light, and I’m glad if we can all think this way. Funny, still.
POOF!! Beatle magically reappears in Central Illinois, the night before the party (hey, it’s my magic wand, I can do what I want) with one each of the following:
Shrimp on a Stick
Fajitas
Strudel and Ice Cream
Roasted Corn
And you can bring me a Crawfish & Shrimp Pocket, and if it looks too weird I will let the Better Half eat it.
rob (did you have to say “rain?”), BP went as BP Amoco for a little while after they took over (the American Oil Company - formerly Pan-Am/Stanolind), but last year announced they’re back to just plain old BP (with nary a name hiccough when they swallowed Vastar/Arco).
DDG, I’ll see what’s out there, but really now dear, Pepsi? This is Texas.
